Every detail counts

Don't just rely on this silhouette that might look like something you know. We have worked on the four bar suspension to get the best performance from it, while maintaining exceptional reliability. We have thought of all the details so that you don't have to worry about it.

A. The one-piece linkage provides the necessary rigidity and protects the shock absorber from operating out of alignment. The kind of problem that sometimes causes other four-bar systems to fail.

B. The bridge connecting the seat stays ensures a uniformly working assembly and prevents the effect of a suspension that will tend to twist. The kind of phenomena that can be found on other bikes using the same system.

Pivot points

The main pivot points rely on the same expander pins and tapered locks that have contributed to Santa Cruz's reputation for reliability. The pins stay in place and are keyed for trouble-free disassembly.

The main pivots and tie rod pivot are identical to those we use on other models. All instructions are available on our website and any spare parts you may need are available from our Rider Support department.

Bearings

Four oversized bearings form the two pivot points on the chainstays, an axle holds it all together (no risk of losing it all on the shop floor) and there's no need to use a puller tool to remove the bearings for maintenance.

We use larger, stronger bearings than most other brands. Larger bearings are less susceptible to wear, which means your suspension works better, for longer.

And like our entire line, we offer the original owner free replacement frame bearings for life.

Assembly

A. The geometry flip chip is held in place in the frame during disassembly, so there is no risk of losing small parts in the wild. To adjust it, simply loosen, rotate and tighten. It is so easy that it is possible to do it on the go, with a simple allen key.

B. The pivot point threads on the chainstays, seatstays and shock mount are all replaceable, so if your mechanical skills ever fail you can always simply repair them without risking frame damage.

C. All pivot points use 5mm Allen sockets, making it easy to quickly check the screws. Maintenance is so easy that even marketing team members can do it and it does not require any special tools.
